John P. Hines, 55, of New Britain, Conn., died Sunday, May 31, 2009, at Bristol Hospital.

John was born in Hartford and was the son of the late James R. and Mary C. (Gallagher) Hines.

He worked as a dispatcher for Town & Country for several years.

John was a member of Our Lady of Mercy Church, Plainville, the Legion of Mary,
a member of the 3rd and 4th Degree ~ Knight of the Knights of Columbus and an A.C.T.S. Brother.

John is survived by his two brothers, James Hines of Plainville and Robert Hines and his wife, Lois, of Florida;
his two sisters, Mary Alice Hines of Manchester and Kathleen Davis and her husband, Howard, of Canton;
and several nieces and nephews. John was predeceased by his two brothers, Michael and Patrick Hines.

Funeral rites for John will be held Thursday, June 4, 2009, at 8:30 a.m. with the procession departing at 9 a.m.
from the Paul A. Shaker/Farmingdale Funeral Home, 764 Farmington Ave., New Britain,
followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Mercy Church, 19 S. Canal St., Plainville.

Committal service and final resting place will be in St. Mary Cemetery, 1309 Stanley St., New Britain.

Relatives and friends may call at the Paul A. Shaker/Farmingdale Funeral Home today from 6 to 8 p.m.

The Knights of Columbus will post Color Guards and hold their prayer service at the funeral home 6-3-09 from 6pm - 8pm..
